Europe – Thai Strong Connect

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau or TCEB unveiled a series of strategic marketing initiatives to attract business events travelers from Europe. Thailand has had a consistent record of inbound travelers and especially MICE/Business travelers from long-haul markets of Europe, with Germany, France and UK leading the pack. The destination aims to draw more of them.

Europe continues to be an important growing market that contributes to the extraordinary success of Thailand’s business events industry. During fiscal year 2016, Thailand welcomed 106,501 business events visitors from Europe with earnings reaching 251 million euros. Globally, Thailand’s business events sector enjoyed an impressive performance, welcoming 1,273,465 business events travelers, that generated 102,936 million baht in revenue (3.85 million euros).

The UIA held its previous meet in Thailand, just a year before in 2015 in Bangkok, clearly endorsing its confidence again in the emerging global convention hub for the industry.
